samfund:
60 års fordrivelse og etnisk udrensning
Boykot fejringer af ’60 år med Israel’

Den
følgende appel fra 104 palæstinensiske organisationer er en kraftig opfordring
til det internationale samfund om ikke at deltage i de festligheder, staten
Israel søger at organisere i anledning af 60-året for dens ensidige
proklamation. Det er også den vigtigste appel fra Palæstina i 2008.
Hvordan kan I fejre Israel?
Etableringen af staten Israel for 60 år siden var et kolonialt bosætter-projekt,
som systematisk og voldeligt rev mere end 750.000 palæstinensiske arabere op med
rode fra deres land og deres hjem. For 60 år siden røvede zionistiske bander
palæstinensisk ejendom og ødelagde hundreder af palæstinensiske landsbyer.
Hvordan kan bevidste mennesker fejre denne katastrofe?
Israel er ved 60-året en
stat, som fortsætter med at nægte palæstinensiske flygtninge deres
FN-sanktionerede ret til tilbagevenden til deres hjem og til at modtage
kompensation, simpelthen på grund af at de er ’ikke-jøder’.
Det besætter fortsat ulovligt palæstinensisk land og arabiske områder og krænker
dermed utallige FN-resolutioner. Det fremturer med sin åbenlyse nægtelse af
palæstinensernes grundlæggende menneskerettigheder i modstrid med international
humanitær lov og menneskerettigheds-konventioner. Det påtvinger stadig dets egne
palæstinensiske indbyggere et system af institutionaliseret diskrimination, der
minder kraftigt om det nu afdøde apartheidregime i Sydafrika. Og Israel slipper
af sted med alt dette, takket være den ubegrænsede immunitet, som det nyder i
kraft af den ubegrænsede og rundhåndede økonomiske, diplomatiske, politiske og
akademiske støtte fra USA og EU.
I lyset af denne undertrykkelse i alle dens mange udtryksformer, som er
realiteten i dagens Israel, betragter vi enhver arabisk eller international
deltagelse, uanset om den er individuel eller institutionel, i enhver aktivitet,
som bidrager, enten direkte eller indirekte, til ’fejringen’ af Israels
oprettelse som medskyld i fortsættelsen af flygtningenes udplyndring og
fordrivelse, i forlængelsen af besættelsen og forstærkelsen af den israelske
apartheid.
At invitere Israel som ’æresgæst’ til f.eks. bogmesser i Turin eller Paris er
ikke kun en overlagt forræderi mod grundlæggende menneskerets-principper,
indbefattet dem, som Den Europæiske Unionen hæger så meget om i sine egne love,
det er også et bevidst forsøg på at dække over Israels forbrydelser imod det
arabiske folk, især dets successive krigsforbrydelser i Libanon og Palæstina,
og dets faktiske langsomme folkemord på halvanden million palæstinensere i den
belejrede og kollektivt afstraffede Gaza-stribe.
Kort sagt: Fejring af ’60 år med Israel’ er ensbetydende med at danse på
palæstinensiske grave.
Vi opfordrer kraftigt det
internationale civile samfund i alle dets afskygninger, især institutioner og
enkeltpersoner, der arbejder med kunst, akademisk virksomhed, sport,
fagforeninger og trossamfund om at boykotte ’60 år med Israel’, uanset hvor i
verden disse bliver afholdt.
Disse festligholdelser er pr. definition et overgreb mod vores historie, krænker
vores rettigheder og uddyber vores undertrykkelse.
De gør også vejen til retfærdighed, frihed, lighed og varig fred, baseret på
international lov, længere end nogensinde.
